2 Thessalonians 1

(1) Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God our Father and lord Jesus Christ: (2) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and lord Jesus Christ.

(3) We ought always to give thanks to God concerning you, brothers, just as it is fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly and the love of each one of all of you toward one another abounds, (4) so that we ourselves boast in you among the assemblies of God — over your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the tribulations which you endure.

(5) This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be deemed worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer; (6) since indeed it is righteous before God to repay tribulation to those who afflict you, (7) and relief to you who are being afflicted, along with us, at the revelation of the lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power, (8) in flaming fire, giving vengeance to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the glad-tidings of our lord Jesus, (9) who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction, away from the face of the lord and from the glory of his strength, (10) when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony was believed among you, in that day.

(11) To this end we also always pray concerning you, that our God may deem you worthy of the calling and may fulfill every good pleasure of goodness and work of faith in power, (12) so that the name of our lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2

(1) But we ask you, brothers, concerning the arrival of our lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, (2) that you not be quickly shaken from your mind, nor be alarmed — neither by a spirit, nor by a word, nor by a letter as though from us — as if the day of the lord has arrived.

(3) Let no one deceive you in any way, because that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, (4) the one opposing and exalting himself above every so-called god or object of veneration, so that he takes his seat in the sanctuary of God, showing himself to be god. (5) Do you not remember that, while I was still with you, I was saying these things to you? (6) And now you know the thing that restrains, so that he will be revealed in his own time. (7) For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only the one who now restrains holds it back until he comes to be out of the midst. (8) And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the lord Jesus will consume with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his arrival; (9) whose arrival is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, (10) and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who are perishing, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. (11) And because of this, God sends them a working of delusion, so that they believe the lie, (12) so that all might be judged, those who did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

(13) But we ought to give thanks to God always concerning you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first-fruit for salvation, in consecration of spirit and faith of truth, (14) into which he also called you through our glad-tidings, for the acquisition of the glory of our lord Jesus Christ. (15) Therefore then, brothers, stand and hold fast the traditions which you were taught, whether by our word or by our letter.

(16) Now may our lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal encouragement and good hope in grace, (17) encourage your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

2 Thessalonians 3

(1) Finally, brothers, pray concerning us, that the word of the lord may run and be glorified, just as it is also with you; (2) and that we may be delivered from unseemly and evil men; for not all have faith. (3) But the lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (4) And we are confident in the lord concerning you, that you both do and will do what we command. (5) And may the lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the endurance of the Christ.

(6) Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which they received from us. (7) For you yourselves know how it is necessary to imitate us, because we were not disorderly among you, (8) nor did we eat bread freely from anyone, but in labor and toil, working night and day, in order not to burden any of you — (9) not because we do not have authority, but in order that we might give ourselves as a pattern to you, to imitate us. (10) For even when we were with you, we commanded this to you: that if anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat. (11) For we hear of some walking among you disorderly, working at nothing, but meddling in others' affairs. (12) But we command and exhort such ones in the lord Jesus Christ, that working with quietness they may eat their own bread. (13) But you, brothers, do not lose heart in doing good. (14) And if anyone does not obey our word through this letter, mark this one for yourselves, not to associate with him, so that he may be put to shame. (15) And do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

(16) Now may the lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The lord be with all of you. (17) The greeting is by my hand — Paul's — which is a sign in every letter; thus I write. (18) The grace of our lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.
